Proper customs clearance starts well before the declaration is submitted. That is why we check the situation, documents and requirements in advance, coordinate with all parties involved and follow the process until the shipment has been released. This reduces the risk of errors, delays and unexpected costs.
Assessing the situation
We first map out the full situation. Which goods are being imported or exported, where do they come from, what is the destination and how are they being transported? We also look at the value, origin, commodity code and any specific conditions. This makes it clear in advance which customs rules and additional requirements apply.
Checking documents
We check whether all required information and documents are available and consistent with each other. This includes commercial invoices, transport documents, certificates, proof of origin and permits. We check, among other things, product descriptions, quantities and commodity codes. Based on this, we determine which declarations, inspections or additional documents are required.
Starting the process
Once the preparation is complete, we handle the required customs declarations and specialist applications. This may involve an import or export declaration, veterinary or phytosanitary documents, an inspection or a procedure under a customs permit. We initiate each step at the right time, so that different parts of the process do not have to wait unnecessarily for one another.
Coordinating and supporting release
During the process, we stay in contact with all parties involved. We coordinate with customs, the NVWA, inspection points, carriers and other authorities where necessary. If information is missing or a question arises during an inspection, we address it immediately. We follow the process until the declaration has been completed, the inspection has been finalised and the shipment can move on.
Recording the administration
After completion, we ensure that all data, documents and decisions are recorded correctly. This keeps it clear afterwards which declarations were made, which goods were processed and which conditions applied. This is particularly important for customs permits, inward processing and special procedures, where the administration must also be fully correct during a later audit.
