Correct proof of origin
When exporting goods outside the European Union, an origin document may be required. This document shows where a product was manufactured or processed.
Without proper documentation of origin, goods can be stopped, cause additional costs or even be refused at the border. Flevo Trade Service arranges everything related to origin documents, from determining them to correctly drafting and processing them.

Documents of origin are regularly underestimated. However, many countries explicitly ask for proof of origin. They are used for export to comply with the customs regulations of the destination country.
A distinction is made between preferential and non-preferential origin documents. Non-preferential documents, such as the Certificate of Origin, are often requested for political or administrative reasons. Preferential documents can reduce or remit import duties in the destination country.
The form of origin document required depends on the product, the country of destination and the applicable trade agreements. We always determine this per shipment. This includes documents such as EUR.1, EUR-MED or an invoice statement.
Import duties
A correctly drawn up origin document can affect the recipient's level of import duties. In some cases, this may mean a reduction or a full 0% rate.
Incorrect or missing documentation, on the other hand, can lead to delays, additional costs or additional checks. That is why we assess in advance whether a product actually complies with the rules of origin of the relevant agreement.
Only when the conditions are met will the correct document be issued.
